In May I and two colleague at the Hospital applied for funding to continue the project I’m working at and to start scientific research in the benefits of playful solutions like it. And we got it! ❤
Always a good excuse to doodle characters 😀
This time for a magical steampunk universe inspired by Sunless Seas / Sunless Skies.
It’s crafted out of 8 different photo references.
Sometimes you are in the right place at the right time. And after a lot of uncertainties we finally got acceptance that I could start as project leader at the Children’s Hospital of Copenhagen. I’m going to run a project called “Break the isolation” for kids and adolescences living with cancer. It will helping them through VR/AR experiences to socially connect with friends and family at home – and others in the same situation at the hospital. Aaaand also have fun and encourage more movement.
I just had my 3th day today and I’m so excited!
I can’t show a lot, but through the last months I’ve had a lot of fun freelancing jobs!
I’ve been doing sigils for a Game of Thrones inspired LARP (Spoils of war), sketches for merchandise for a shop in Tivoli and game design sketches for 3 small games for Ramasjang. I’ve also been game jamming on a the XR project we started at Copenhagen X BørneRiget.
I’ve just got one project left to finish, 8 drawings orders for a wedding gift, and then I’ll take a break and work on my own stuff ❤
I don’t think I have a lot extra to say about this.. It was an amazing experience, my group build a gigantic concept in thoughts and prototyped a part of it – and won one of the two prices..!
I’m overwhelmed in all the best kind of ways.
I find it much more rewarding and fun to look at the “between jobs” state as a treasure hunt. Searching companies and network for hints, planning the route and going for the reward : a great place to make games. It’s like an adventure ^^
Since January I’ve been working at Klassefilm to create a game for kids about what food does to the body. It’v been fun and crazy and is now ready for release. Which also means I’ll need to find a new project.
Here’s a sneak peak of Spis & Fis :
I don’t know how to recap the last half year..
I’ve started new job. It’s been amazing. Now we are almost done..!
I’ve been testing on more than 80 kids in the process. Learned Illustrator. Programmed my own prototypes. Had a lot of fun. Learned a LOT about food.
Also been to a game jam, or two, and played a bunch of games like Night in the Woods, Borderlands 2, Life is Strange : Before the Storm, Papers Please and This War of Mine (again). And I’m catching up with old friends to brainstorm new games.
I’m playing Frantics with my friends; and is laughing a lot at the same time. And a friend finished our game jam DÅTS and published it.
This is a good year ^^
